CHICOPEE, Mass. - Early this morning, Chicopee firefighters were called to a scene on Philathea Street outside Solenis manufacturing company.

The call came in around 6:45 a.m. The deputy on scene says firefighters responded to a "chemical-related" report of a leaking railcar. 

According to Chicopee FD, 15 people were working at Solenis at the time the call was made. One person has been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All employees have been evacuated. 

Chicopee firefighters have blocked off Philathea Street on both ends. Residents are asked to avoid the area. However, there is no threat to the public. 

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, Northhampton Fire Rescue and Chicopee police are on scene. 

Firefighters and other personnel are expected to be on scene until early Thursday afternoon.
