Admirers of Alexander Isak have been warned that they cannot offer the striker what he gets at Newcastle United - a side that is built around him.

The Swedish international has hit 23 goals in 33 games this season leading to rumours that the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are interested in taking him away from Tyneside.

Newcastle have no intention in selling their number 14 who remains under contract until the summer of 2028. Isak for many is the first man on the team sheet - and the very fact that he is core to Newcastle's success and loved by the fans, is a further boost to United's chances of keeping him at St James' Park according to the host of the Adopted Geordie's Podcast, Andy Jaye.

"I can't see him leaving," he told The Everything is Black and White Podcast. "That's, that's only my humble opinion but why would you go at this point? We've had him say this repeatedly whenever people badger him about it - he continually talks up his love of playing here and his love of the area.

"He's got real long term friends in the squad, and he is achieving his ambitions.

"We talked about him wanting to be a winner and wanting to play in the Champions League - well, he's done both at Newcastle United, whilst being adored by the fans and getting all the great press and having a team that effectively the system is now built around him, right, where else is he going to go where a system is set up to make sure you are the very best version of yourself?

"I'm not sure there is a club out there where he'll be as admired and as adored by the fan base and the players he's playing with and the manager who really gets him, there's a real connection there, plus the system is set up so that you play your way, mate, and we will get the ball to you. We will feed you however you want it fed.

"What other team can do that for Alexander Isak right now? I can't think of a team in Europe."

Reports in Spain claim that Isak favours a move to Liverpool over Barcelona or Real Madrid but the reality is that 25-year-old is happy on Tyneside - having scored the second goal in the 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Final. That strike helped to end Newcastle's 70-year wait for a domestic trophy.

Isak celebrated with his teammates after the Wembley win but then jetted off to meet up with the Sweden squad for games against Luxembourg and Northern Ireland - losing the former. He will face Michael O'Neill's Irish side tonight.

Speaking at the training camp, Isak was pressed on his future. He added: "From within the club and from our side there are absolutely no discussions. It's just full focus on playing for me. There is a lot of writing outside but within the club no one is talking about anything like that.

"I just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we won the cup, but we want to finish strong and reach the Champions League games."
