French Minister highlights France-Dominican Republic partnership in transportation

Santo Domingo.- The Office for the Reorganization of Transport (OPRET) reported that Laurent Saint-Martin, France’s Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, toured key transportation projects in Santo Domingo, including the Los Alcarrizos cable car and the construction site of Metro Line 2C. Accompanied by French parliamentarians and business leaders, he emphasized the strong collaboration between France and the Dominican Republic in improving urban mobility.
Saint-Martin highlighted France’s role as a key partner in sustainable transportation, noting that French companies have contributed to infrastructure, rolling stock, and technology for the Metro and Cable Car systems. He praised the multimodal connection between Los Alcarrizos and Metro Line 2C as a step forward in job creation and quality of life improvements.
The visit concluded with Saint-Martin boarding the Metro from María Montez to Pedro Mir station, observing the progress of the modernization efforts.
