The countdown to Fiji’s biggest secondary schools sporting event, the Coca-Cola Games, begins with the Powerade National Torch Relay, marking the 50th anniversary of the Games in 2025.
This milestone celebrates the enduring 50-year partnership between Coca-Cola Fiji and the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association (FSSAA)
The Powerade National Torch Relay was launched yesterday at the CCEP Fiji’s manufacturing site in Laucala Beach Estate.
Over the next five weeks, the torch will travel through Ovalau, Viti Levu, and Vanua Levu, passing through two major cities and eleven towns before reaching HFC Bank Stadium on Thursday, April 24.
A total of 130 students from 50 selected secondary schools will carry the torch, building excitement nationwide, with MGM High School and Marist Brothers High School leading the final stretch to HFC Bank Stadium on the morning of April 24.
The Coca-Cola Games, taking place from Thursday, April 24- Saturday, April 26, marks a significant milestone in uniting schools, athletes, and communities through sport.
Over the years, the event has grown into Fiji’s premier secondary school athletics competition, producing remarkable performances and unforgettable moments.
As part of the celebrations, the relay will conclude with the official lighting of the Coca-Cola Games Cauldron, symbolising the beginning of Fiji’s largest and longest-running school sports event.
CCEP Fiji also acknowledged the continued support of CK’s Mega Bargain, Digicel, Fiji Gas, Fiji Water, and Pacific Energy, whose partnerships ensure the success of the Powerade National Torch Relay year after year.
