Alpine

Ian Christie, Falmouth junior: Christie won his second consecutive Class A slalom title and was only two seconds shy of winning the giant slalom. His consistent top finishes contributed to the team’s success throughout the season and helped Falmouth claim the Class A Alpine title.

 

 

Cooper Dodge, York junior: Dodge won the Class B and Western Maine Conference slalom titles. The first-time Varsity Maine All-State selection also took third in giant slalom at the conference championships.

Merrik Icozilli, Fryeburg Academy junior: Icozilli placed third in both giant slalom and slalom at the Class A championships and won the Western Maine Conference giant slalom title. During the regular season, he finished first or second in every race.

 

 

Landon Marquis, Camden Hills senior: Marquis won the Class A giant slalom and placed second in slalom. He is a three-time Varsity Maine All-State selection.

Thatcher Riley, Maranacook senior: Riley won the Class B giant slalom title and placed second in slalom, leading the Black Bears to the Alpine state title. He also was the Mountain Valley Conference champion in slalom and giant slalom.

 

 

 

Nordic

Beckett Cote, Messalonskee senior: The Varsity Maine Boys Skier of the Year dominated in his first season of MPA competition. He swept the classical, freestyle and pursuit titles at the Class A championships and KVAC meet.

Tait Harvey, Greely junior: The two-time Varsity Maine All-State honoree was the classical, freestyle and pursuit champion in Class B, helping the Rangers to a top-three finish. He also swept the titles at the Western Maine Conference championships.

 

 

Henri McCourt, Mt. Blue senior: McCourt is on the Varsity Maine All-State team for the fourth straight year after finishing second to Cote in the Class A and KVAC championship races, and leading the Cougars to their fourth consecutive Nordic state title. McCourt also placed fourth at the Sassi Memorial.

Alden Reardon, Fort Kent junior: Reardon continued to dominate Class C, sweeping the classical, freestyle and pursuit titles for the third straight year while leading Fort Kent to the team championship. Reardon, a three-time Varsity Maine All-State selection, also finished second at the Sassi Memorial, ahead of most Class A and B skiers.

 

 

Samuel Geissinger, Spruce Mountain sophomore: Geissinger skied to a second-place finish in the classical race and third place in freestyle pursuit at the Class C championships. He won Mountain Valley Conference titles in classical and pursuit.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Ben Geissinger, Mt. Blue Nordic: Geissinger took over the historically dominant program after longtime coach Emmy Held left and kept the Cougars at the top. At the Class A Nordic state championships, four Mt. Blue boys earned top-10 results in the classical race and five finished among the top 13 in freestyle.
