Alpha-H to Expand into Clinics Throughout the UK and Ireland

Australian skincare brand, Alpha-H has announced further international expansion, this time throughout the UK and Ireland.

The brand, which since 1996 has been touted for popularising the use of glycolic acid in the treatment of skin, was founded by the late Michelle Doherty.

A new distribution deal has been signed with Irish distributor, Graham Anthony. Graham Anthony is also behind the Irish distribution of other professional brands such as Payot and Phyto.

According to a press statement on the move, Alpha-H aims to expand its “premium pharmacy and professional clinics footprint” in these regions. The company credits skin therapists with having a considerable impact on client purchase decisions.

As a result, UK and Irish clinics will be granted access to Alpha-H’s suite of professional-only protocols, including the brand’s revered alpha-hydroxy peels.

In 2024, Alpha-H relaunched its hero Liquid Gold and earned a place on Professional Beauty’s list of top Winter skincare launches. See it HERE.

Lee-Anne Leslie, Clinical Training & Education Manager at Alpha-H says “exfoliation is one of the most in-demand and essential skin treatments to deliver skin health.  There is no skin concern a chemical peel can’t address, with the most popular for Alpha-H being elastosis (lack of elasticity), fine lines and wrinkles, post-acne scarring, blemishes, breakouts and acne.”

Alpha-H is currently also distributed in Spain, Slovakia and the Netherlands, and is available for online purchase throughout Europe, the US and South East Asia.

Alpha-H CCO Tina Randello believes the lines have blurred between retail and professional channels and Alpha-H is in a select group of brands that straddle both parts of the market. “We know great skin health combines regular in-clinic treatments with consistent at-home product use. As one of a small group of brands that straddle both [retail and clinic] segments of the market, it’s our intention to leverage this position for the befit of our retailers, clinics and customers,” she says.
