ArmInfo. The results of the elections held yesterday in Gyumri and Parakar once again demonstrated that the ruling party in Armenia, the Civil Contract, is a hopeless minority. Former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan posted this on his Facebook page.
He mentioned that a similar situation happened in Yerevan in 2023, where the ruling party only received 32% of the votes - less than yesterday in Gyumri. "Jackson just happened to be a woman - the supposedly opposition-minded "Republic" of Aram Sargsyan and the "Public Voice" party ensured the reproduction of the ruling force. This result, refelecting an unprincipled, short-sighted and ineffective government, should be secured in the national elections in the summer of 2026," the former mayor noted.
