On Thursday at 3:34 a.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated wind advisory in effect until 6 a.m. for Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Tompkins, Madison and Cortland counties.

The weather service says to expect, "South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph."

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," adds the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure lightweight outdoor objects."
