Fans of My Chemical Romance might finally be treated to a new album - but there's one catch.

The Welcome to the Black Parade rockers announced their reunion in 2019, six years after their hiatus began in 2013. In the six years since then, the band has been on tour but has only released one new song, The Foundations of Decay, in 2022.

But now, fans are convinced My Chemical Romance will release an album in 2025, thanks to one hint on a music streaming app. There is a catch, however, and it's bad news for anyone hoping that the album will be full of new music. Instead, it's thought the band are planning to release a deluxe edition of their 2004 album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge.

The news was shared on TikTok by a fan named Valerie, who first shared a series of X posts from a man named Noah. The X posts claimed the deluxe edition would be released on June 6th and went on to share the track list for the album, which includes new 2025 mixes of all 13 songs from the original album, plus four live versions of songs from the album that were recorded for BBC Radio 1's The Lock Up back in 2005.

Valerie then claimed that Noah's post was backed up by a clue found on the Australian version of the Apple Music app, where the album can be pre-saved ahead of its June release.

She said: "Of course, this is just some guy, where is this information coming from? How do we know it's real? Well, he's in Australia, where it's the future because of time zones. If you got to the Australian Apple Music, this shows up as a pre-release. Like the real Apple Music. I clicked on a link and went there myself. This is not a screenshot he posted. It's here."

It's not just Apple Music that seems to be confirming the album, either. On Friday (April 11th), the live version of MCR's hit song, I'm Not Okay (I Promise), was released on Spotify with the same artwork that has been leaked for the full album.

While Spotify does not yet indicate a full album is on the way, the artwork for the live track does include the words "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" - suggesting that a full release could indeed be on the way soon.

The news of a potential deluxe edition of the band's second album - which contains other hits, including Helena and The Ghost of You - has sent fans into a frenzy. However, many are disappointed that the album doesn't contain any new music.

Valerie said: "Although, I will not lie. Did I want a new album? Yeah, I did. Did I want new music? Yeah, I did. But, personally, on June 6th, I will be screaming. Yes, I will."

One commenter also expressed disappointment, stating: "They're doing everything but making new music. I love this band more than life and will be blasting the remaster, but they've been playing a game of 'Are We a Thing Again or Are We Not' for about five years."

Another agreed, writing: "I'm happy about any new content, but I desperately want new music."

Others were thrilled about the new release, saying they'd rush to their chosen streaming service as soon as the album came out to listen to the newly remastered tracks. Some even claimed that they could listen to the album now on some versions of Apple Music despite it not being released for another two months.

Someone said: "It's real, and for some reason, I'm able to actually listen to it. And yes, they are all new mixes."

Another also claimed they had listened to the tracks, stating: "I just listened to it and genuinely levitated out of my body. I've never heard a remaster this clearly different. I'm in shock. Just when I thought a perfect album couldn't get any better."
