Fans of My Chemical Romance might be in for a treat with a new album on the horizon - but there's a twist.

The band behind the hit Welcome to the Black Parade announced their comeback in 2019, six years after they took a break in 2013. Since then, they've been touring and have released just one new track, The Foundations of Decay, in 2022.

However, fans are now buzzing on social media with speculation that My Chemical Romance will drop an album in 2025, based on a hint spotted on a music streaming app.

But there's a snag for those hoping for a fresh collection of songs. It appears the band is not planning to release any new music but will instead drop a deluxe edition of their 2004 album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge.

A fan named Valerie shared the news on TikTok, initially posting a series of X posts from a man called Noah. These posts suggested that the deluxe edition would be out on June 6th and revealed the track list for the album. This includes new 2025 mixes of all 13 songs from the original album, along with four live versions of tracks from the album recorded for BBC Radio 1's The Lock Up back in 2005.

Valerie further claimed that Noah's post was corroborated by a clue found on the Australian version of the Apple Music app, where fans can pre-save the album ahead of its June release.

She questioned: "Of course, this is just some guy. Where is this information coming from? How do we know it's real? Well, he's in Australia, where it's the future because of time zones. If you go to the Australian Apple Music, this shows up as a pre-release - like the real Apple Music. I clicked on a link and went there myself. This is not a screenshot he posted. It's here."

But it's not only Apple Music that seems to be giving a nod to the album. On Friday (April 11th), the live rendition of MCR's smash hit, I'm Not Okay (I Promise), was released on Spotify, featuring the same artwork that's been leaked for the full album.

While Spotify hasn't yet signalled a full album release, the artwork for the live track does bear the words "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge", hinting that a full release could indeed be imminent.

The whisperings of a potential deluxe edition of the band's second album - home to other hits like Helena and The Ghost of You - has sent fans into overdrive. However, many are left feeling let down that the album doesn't feature any new music.

Valerie admitted: "Although, I will not lie. Did I want a new album? Yeah, I did. Did I want new music? Yeah, I did. But, personally, on June 6th, I will be screaming. Yes, I will."

One fan couldn't hide their disappointment, sharing: "They're doing everything but making new music. I love this band more than life and will be blasting the remaster, but they've been playing a game of 'Are We a Thing Again or Are We Not' for about five years."

Echoing the sentiment, another wrote: "I'm happy about any new content, but I desperately want new music."

There are plenty of fans who are excited for this fresh drop, however, as they flocked to the comments of Valerie's video to say they were ready to dive head-first into the remastered album. Some even claimed they already had access to the album on certain versions of Apple Music - despite its official release being a whole two months away.

One person said: "It's real, and for some reason, I'm able to actually listen to it. And yes, they are all new mixes."

Another commented: "I just listened to it and genuinely levitated out of my body. I've never heard a remaster this clearly different. I'm in shock. Just when I thought a perfect album couldn't get any better."
